It’s funny my dad says that swearing is what people who aren’t articulate do to express themselves. And to a point he’s right, but there are other factors he doesn’t consider. Swearing can relieve pain and I’ve also read that an evolutionary advantage of swearing is in its ability to bond groups, whether it be through dirty jokes or sharing complaints, etc. 
For me though, aside from those things, my love of swearing comes from my love of language. I mean, how could you not learn a language and learn all of the fun, interesting, and terrible words that bond us as a culture.
